By using this site and hiring the services or buying the products of Luis Taveras Colorist, you accept these terms.
We offer colour correction and grading for film, commercials and music videos, custom LUTs and the sale of digital LUT packs. The scope, price and timeline of each job are agreed in writing before starting.
LUTs are downloadable digital files. Buying them grants you a licence for personal and commercial use in your own projects; you may not resell, redistribute or share the file. Purchase gives access to download from your account.
Online payments are processed through PayPal. Your card or account details are entered directly on PayPal's platform: we never see or store them. We also accept bank transfer; in that case you can upload the receipt from your invoice.
Because they are instant-download digital products, LUT sales are final unless applicable law requires otherwise or the file is defective; in that case, contact us and we will make it right. Colour services are governed by each project's specific agreement.
Yours: the material you give us and the finished work remain yours. We do not publish them, hand them to third parties or sell them.
Ours: the LUTs, DCTLs, tools and working method of Luis Taveras Colorist remain ours. They are licensed, not sold outright, and work done for you gives you no rights over them.
Showing our work. By hiring us you grant us permission to use short excerpts of the final result in our portfolio, demo reel, website and social media, crediting the production. It is a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission with three limits: only after the work has been released or published; excerpts only, never the complete work; and nothing under a confidentiality agreement, unless you authorise it separately.
You can withdraw that permission at any time: write to us and we remove it wherever it is up to us. If you would rather we use nothing at all, tell us before we start and we will put it in writing.
Size. We accept files of up to 200 GB per file. If your project needs more, request a special delivery from your portal and we will set it up.
What you can upload: video (.mp4, .mov, .mxf, .braw, .r3d, .ari, .dpx, .mkv, .avi, .m4v, .mts, .m2ts, .webm), image and RAW (.dng, .exr, .cr2, .cr3, .nef, .arw, .raf, .tif, .psd, .jpg, .png, .webp, .heic), audio (.wav, .aif, .aiff, .flac, .mp3, .m4a, .aac) and archives (.zip, .rar, .7z). If you need another format, write to us first.
What cannot be uploaded. Programs and executables (.exe, .bat, .msi, .cmd, .app and similar).
What you send us. Everything we receive goes through two filters before we start working: the automatic scan of our storage (Google Drive) and our own antivirus. With archives this matters especially, because until they are opened you cannot see what is inside.
If an alert comes up, the file is neither accepted nor worked on. We do not open it and we tell you right away. We cannot start your project until you send us a clean copy, and the delivery time is counted from the day we receive that copy, not from the original upload.
What we deliver to you. We scan that too before sending it.
Whatever you send us for a project is confidential. The raw material is used only to deliver the service you hired and only the people working on your project can access it; it is never published.
Your files are deleted automatically 30 days after the project is delivered. The clock starts the day we mark the work as delivered, not the day you uploaded the file.
Nothing disappears by surprise: for the 7 days before, we email you every day with the exact date. If you still need the material, you can request an extension from that email or from your portal; while the request is open, nothing is deleted. Always keep your own copy of the final delivery.
Your account data and the record of your invoices and payments are kept while you have an account with us and for as long as accounting and tax obligations require. The image of any transfer receipt is deleted after 30 days. Full details in our privacy policy.
We do not sell or rent our clients' data. To anyone, ever. We do not pass it to third parties for advertising and we do not use it for anything other than working with you.
Confidentiality is not only about files: what you tell us about your project is confidential too. We do not discuss our clients' projects with other clients.
By sending us material to work on, you declare that you hold the necessary rights to it: that it is yours or that you have permission from whoever holds those rights. That includes music, stock footage, third-party material and the consent of the people who appear in it.
We only apply colour: we do not and cannot verify the chain of rights of what you send us. If a third party makes a claim over the content you handed us, that claim is yours and you take responsibility for it, including any costs it causes us.
We also do not work on manifestly unlawful material. If we receive something of that kind, we may stop the work and cancel the job, and we will tell you.
We provide services with professional diligence but do not guarantee specific business results. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant service or product.
Specifically, we are not liable: if you fail to keep your own copy of the final delivery after the 30-day period, having been emailed every day during the previous week; for delays that are not ours (material that does not arrive, is incomplete or faulty, or revisions waiting on your reply); or for interruptions caused by third parties or by force majeure.
